Traditional Moroccan lime plaster – polished with agate stones, treated with olive oil soap. For seamless bathrooms, showers and vanity units.
Tadelakt is a traditional Moroccan lime plaster that gains its water repellence from compacting and polishing with agate stones and treatment with olive oil soap. The surface becomes hard, has a silky sheen and remains a natural material.
On La Gomera we use Tadelakt mainly in bathrooms, showers and around washbasins – wherever water meets the wall. Unlike tiles, it creates seamless surfaces that look calmer and are easy to clean.
Yes – Tadelakt is the classic plaster for hammams and showers. What matters is a sound substrate, the right fall and careful application in several stages. We plan the waterproofing beneath it as well.
With mild soap, ideally olive oil soap. Abrasives and acidic cleaners such as vinegar or limescale removers attack the lime and must be avoided. If needed, the surface is re-soaped.
Yes. Walls, corners and niches are finished in one go, so there are no grout lines where dirt and mould build up as with tiles.
Tadelakt is naturally lime white and can be tinted with earth and mineral pigments – from warm sand to deep red or green. We make samples on request.
